On a small island, leadership is never anonymous. Your decisions are seen. Your reputation travels faster than your email. The person across the table this week is the person you'll meet everywhere next week.
You lead anyway. You might run the business. You might run the department. You might be a few years in and already the one everyone comes to. The decisions land on you, and on an island this size, they follow you home.
Most leadership advice was written for a different working life, in a much bigger place. You've been translating it for years.

I'm aoife.
For more than 25 years, I've worked alongside women through HR, employee relations and leadership development. First jobs. Maternity returns. First management roles. Executive seats. Companies of their own.
I first came to Malta in 1999, at the start of my career. I came back more than a dozen times, and each time the island had changed. New industries. New ways of doing business. More women in the room, and more women running it.
Watching women at work is what I do. Now Malta is home. I run my business here, I work here in person, and I know what leading on this island asks of you.
In all those years, one thing has held true. There isn't a professional woman and a private woman. There is one woman, and her leadership has to work for the whole of her.
